Helena Celebrates Community Philanthropy 2022

Due to the Delta variant pandemic surge, Big Sky Institute for the Advancement of Nonprofits (BSI) will be holding Helena’s fifth annual sector-wide event to celebrate the importance of community philanthropy in the Spring of 2022. Helena Celebrates Community Philanthropy (HCCP) will recognize those who do the giving, and those who do the fundraising. HCCP is Helena’s largest philanthropic event of the year.

The Helena nonprofit community values all kinds of philanthropy in its many shapes and sizes, including the volunteering of time and talent for the work we do. That said, many in this sector have developed a deep appreciation for philanthropic individuals and entities whose generosity broadly embraces the diversity of our local nonprofit community. Why is this important? Because it is the philanthropic cornerstone for inclusive community building.

HCCP activities will take place at Delta Hotels Helena Colonial, beginning with a networking reception, followed by a dinner with formal celebration activities. The program will feature awards to recognize and celebrate philanthropic accomplishments, and honor great role models who exemplify the very best qualities of community philanthropists. We will highlight awardees in the individual donor, business and corporate, and foundation categories.

The 2022 awardees include:

  • Individuals – Dick and Margaret Anderson, nominated by Shodair Children’s Hospital
  • Business/Corporate – Valley Bank of Helena , nominated by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Helena and Great Falls
  • Foundation – Dennis & Phyllis Washington Foundation, nominated by Florence Crittenton
